Africa Surfboards is the new factory in Warner Beach, Durban. We produce and stock a range of surf and body boards, as well as working together with big names in the industry, such as Clayton Surfboards.

We are pleased to introduce Africa Surfboards to our shoppers. This will be the factory that produces all the Clayton surfboards for the Africa and Indian Ocean markets. The rad thing is we have our own models available online and in our shop, whichever you prefer.

In our world passion is everything and the two new owners of Africa Surfboards have tons of it! Gary & Grant are 2 surf stokies that still wake up in the dark to hit the dawnie at their favourite local surf spot and are always amped to talk boards in the water.

Gary has been the head shaper at Clayton surfboards for 5 years and knows plenty about boards to ensure you are getting that magic carpet. As a competitive surfer for many years, and an absolute ripper, he knows and understands the way surfboards work and how to translate that into his shapes. Having a shaper that surfs almost daily is pretty rare nowadays! Having a shaper that understands feel and knowing exactly what each board does is priceless. Most important of all he is a good human and really cares about the surfboard he is making for you!

Grant is Gary’s best mate and just as mad about surfing. He has shaped in his back yard for years and also loves everything surfboards. He recently got the full grom stoke back when he discovered spine-tek, which has got him frothing to surf every day.

The experience of the 2 combined is invaluable! The quality coming out of the factory is exceptional and you can see the care that is put into each board. It’s super exciting to have a new factory on the upper south coast of KZN in the surf hot-spot that is Warner Beach, South Africa.
